On Sunday, the headies conducted their 16th annual award ceremony in Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in the USA.
Terrence J, an Emmy-nominated actor, presented the awards, which were themed ‘Celebrating African Renaissance,’ and Nigerian-American actress Osas Ighodaro co-hosted the event.
The night featured performances from numerous artists and show-biz personalities, including a spectacular performance from Ace-musicians Wande Coal and “Mr Money” Asake, also known as Money by his followers.
It was broadcast live on HipTV to Nigerians and streamed on its social media platforms.
The Headies is a music awards programme founded in 2006 by Nigeria’s Hip Hop World Magazine to honour outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music business. The yearly ceremony contains performances by well-known and emerging performers.
