Hilda Baci, a 27-year-old chef, is about to beat the current Guinness World Record by cooking for four days nonstop.
The sociology graduate from Madonna University, Okija, has been cooking at Amore Gardens, Lekki, non-stop.
However, there are rules Hilda must adhere to as she continues her journey to stardom.
They are:
1). She will be cooking for four days non-stop.
2). She must stand to cook; she is not permitted to sit.
3). She cannot take coffee, stimulants, or any energy drink to boost her energy and bodily strength while cooking artificially.
4). She’s allowed to eat food, drink water or fruit juice, and take glucose.
5). She cooks round the clock, no sleep (Morning, afternoon, evening, and night. So, for four nights, she won’t sleep).
6). She has just five minutes rest per hour (meaning for every hour, she is entitled to just five minutes rest or break, an hour break every 12 hours).
7). Whatever she cooks is shared with the people at the venue for free. She is not selling the food.
8). She cooks different meals simultaneously. She is at liberty to cook any meal she likes. There are no restrictions as to what she can cook or not cook. The World Record title concerns cooking within a time frame, not about what is cooked. As long as she is cooking, she is on track.
9). Every meal cooked and every plate served is recorded. She has cooked over 120 meals, with almost 3,500 portions, since this article was written.
Meanwhile, ride-hailing service, Uber, is offering a 40% discounted ride to the venue for people who wish to join and cheer her up at the venue.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos also visited Hilda to cheer her on, while Vice President Professor Yemii Osinbajo spoke to her on the phone.
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, also tweeted in support of Hilda, noting that: “her efforts show the true Nigerian spirit of hard work and resilience.”
