Nigeria’s Super Eagles are set to arrive in Fèz, Morocco, today as they continue preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The team, comprising players and officials, will depart Cairo this afternoon, according to team officer Promise Efoghe. Their first training session in Fèz is scheduled for 6 p.m. local time.
The Super Eagles began their AFCON preparations in Cairo on Monday ahead of their opening group matches. On Tuesday, they suffered a 2–1 defeat to Egypt in a friendly match at the Cairo International Stadium.
Nigeria, three-time African champions, have been drawn in Group C alongside Tanzania, Tunisia, and Uganda. The team will play all their group-stage matches at the Grand Stade de Fèz.
Eric Chelle’s side will open the tournament against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania next Tuesday. They will then face Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles on December 27 before taking on Uganda’s Cranes on December 30.
The move to Fèz is aimed at helping the team acclimatise to local conditions and finalise tactical preparations under Chelle’s guidance. Training sessions will focus on team cohesion, set-piece strategies, and overall match readiness ahead of the group-stage fixtures.
With the group-stage schedule set, the Super Eagles are focused on securing positive results from the outset as they aim to reclaim continental glory in Morocco.
