Africa Prudential Plc has reported impressive financial performance for the nine-month period ended September 30, 2025, recording a profit after tax of ₦2.05 billion — a significant 53% rise from the ₦1.34 billion posted in the same period of 2024.
The registrar services company posted revenue of ₦965.3 million for the nine months, up 27% from ₦758.5 million in the same period last year.
Third-quarter revenue stood at ₦438.9 million, marking a 17% increase from ₦374.7 million in Q3 2024.
In a statement released Wednesday, the company said revenue from contracts with customers formed the core of its income, with cost of sales declining by ₦6.4 million to ₦116.9 million, contributing to improved profitability.
Net operating income for the nine months reached ₦5.11 billion, up 50% from ₦3.41 billion in the same period of 2024. The Q3 net operating income of ₦1.79 billion represented a 29% year-on-year increase.
This strong operating performance was bolstered by significant interest income of ₦4.00 billion, compared to ₦2.52 billion in the prior-year period, reflecting the company’s effective treasury management and the high-interest-rate environment.
Gross profit for the nine months improved to ₦848.4 million from ₦476.1 million, representing a 78% increase and demonstrating enhanced operational efficiency.
Profit before finance costs and tax for the period stood at ₦3.02 billion, a 55% increase from ₦1.95 billion in 2024. The Q3 profit before finance costs and tax of ₦1.04 billion was up 24% year-on-year.
After accounting for income tax expense of ₦967 million, the company delivered a bottom-line profit of ₦2.05 billion for the nine months.
Basic and diluted earnings per share for the nine months reached ₦51 per share, compared to ₦67 per share in the same period of 2024. The Q3 earnings per share stood at ₦18 per share, down from ₦29 per share in Q3 2024, reflecting changes in the share capital structure or the number of outstanding shares.
Total comprehensive income for the nine months, net of tax, amounted to ₦2.42 billion, up 81% from ₦1.34 billion in the prior year. This includes a net gain on quoted equity instruments at fair value through other comprehensive income of ₦367.4 million.
For the third quarter, total comprehensive income reached ₦992.9 million, a 70% increase from ₦582 million in Q3 2024.
The company maintained disciplined cost management, with personnel expenses of ₦969.9 million and other operating expenses of ₦962.4 million for the nine months. Depreciation and amortisation totalled ₦48.1 million, while credit-loss expenses were modest at ₦14.9 million.
