The 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket final is set, with Nigeria’s D’Tigress scheduled to play former winners Mali. On Sunday, August 3, 2025, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, the final is planned.
After an arduous 75–68 comeback victory against bitter rivals Senegal in the semifinals, the reigning champions guaranteed their place in the championship game. They have now advanced to the finals five times in a row, and their tournament-winning streak now stands at 28 games.
With a resounding 76–50 victory over South Sudan in their semi-final encounter, Mali advanced to the final. Their current goal is to win the title again, which they last did in 2007.
A thrilling rematch of the 2021 final, in which Nigeria defeated Mali to capture the title for the fourth time in a row, is anticipated in this final. By being the first nation to win the championship five times in a row, D’Tigress hopes to create history.
Mali is aiming for their first continental championship since 2007, while Nigeria’s D’Tigress would be aiming for a record-breaking fifth straight title win and eighth overall.
