Two major Nigerian carriers—Air Peace Airlines and United Nigeria Airlines—have announced new yuletide fares, fixing one-way economy tickets at ₦350,500 for flights from Lagos and Abuja to key South East and South South destinations.
The affected routes include Owerri, Enugu, Anambra, Port Harcourt, and Asaba, with return trips from these locations priced similarly. The fares, which are already displayed on the airlines’ booking platforms, will apply during the festive rush period.
Air Peace will maintain this fare from December 1, 2025, through January 30, 2026, while United Nigeria’s rates will run from December 11 to December 31. From January 1, 2026, United Nigeria will reduce its fares on selected routes—such as Abuja to Asaba, Anambra, Port Harcourt, and Owerri—to ₦150,000.
Interestingly, flights to northern cities remain relatively cheaper in comparison. For example, Air Peace’s Lagos–Kano ticket averages ₦106,900, though occasional spikes to ₦350,500 appear on select days. United Nigeria lists the same route at ₦220,499.
On the Lagos–Yola corridor, Air Peace will raise fares to ₦350,500 during the festive season, up from ₦240,200, while inbound tickets from Yola to Lagos will attract the same cost. United Nigeria has pegged Lagos–Sokoto tickets at ₦250,000, compared to its usual ₦175,500 rate.
Other domestic carriers are also revising their prices for the high-demand season. Ibom Air has adjusted its Lagos–Uyo route to ₦190,800 from December 1, up from ₦152,700, while Arik Air has fixed its Lagos–Port Harcourt fare at ₦191,997 between December 10 and 28, before reducing it to ₦140,617.
