The female U-20 national team of Nigeria (Super Falconets) defeated their Moroccan counterparts in their first match of the ongoing All African Games taking place in Accra, Ghana.
The coach, Christopher Dan, tutored side to secure an encouraging win against Morocco, who have shown significant growth in the round-leather game in recent years.
The Super Falconets turned out for the game with their strongest eleven, and the quality paid dividends when Chioma Olise scored the first goal for her side as early as the 19th minute.
The lead was doubled minutes later when Ado Yinaa scored in the 40th minute of the feisty encounter, which was played at the magnificent Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana.
Following their victory over Morocco, the Falconets, who will play Senegal in their next game on Monday, March 11, just need a draw to qualify for the next round.
