Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing imbroglio among All Progressives Congress (APC) youths jostling for the youth minister position.
Social media has been awash with the infighting between the youths, with different camps emerging and pushing for their candidate to be made minister.
Some of the groups had also mentioned Olusegun as a potential minister.
In a social media post, the presidential media aide wrote:
”Been in transit all morning. Came online just to see all the hullabaloo. For avoidance of doubt, I’m very fulfilled doing my job in documenting Mr President’s activities as his Special Assistant on Social Media.
”I’ve deliberately stayed away from the conversations surrounding the issue of the Youth Ministry.
”I implore young people, especially those “campaigning” for some individuals as Minister of Youth, to allow Mr President to make his pick based on who he is comfortable working with, and we have a duty to support whoever it is. We must not allow the seed of discord to win.”
Recall that some youth leaders of the APC from over 30 states had appealed to Tinubu to allow his son, Seyi, to midwife the selection of a youthful minister.
They said the president’s son understood the importance of a viable youth development ministry and has worked towards building a foundation for the younger generation.
