Reno Omokri, a former presidential media aide, has mocked the immediate past minister of transportation, saying ”he has faded into obscurity.”
Omokri, an author and pastor, made the comment in a post on his Twitter page on Tuesday, June 13.
The Delta-born politician stated that the former minister had yet to develop himself beyond his political status.
Omokri’s comes on a day a political rival of Amaechi in the south-south region, Godswill Akpabio, emerged as the Senate President.
His words:
”Without an office in government, look at how Rotimi Amaechi just faded away into obscurity.
”In life, develop yourself to the extent that your relevance emanates from who you are rather than what you are.
”Because you are always in control of who you are, while what you are is often outside your power. Everything can be taken from a man apart from the knowledge he develops himself with.”
Amaechi, 58, a former governor of Rivers state, resigned as minister in May 2022 to contest for the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He lost to the incumbent president and former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The former minister has since reduced his public outings, with the last being the inauguration of his friend, Alex Otti, as the governor of Abia state.
