PayPal and Amazon Buy with Prime have launched a new collaboration.
The e-commerce giant disclosed this in a press release sent to investors.
PayPal is the latest payment method added to Amazon’s Buy with Prime service, which allows customers with a Prime membership to buy products from third-party stores and check out using their Amazon account.
Amazon is capitalising on the excitement around online shopping as October’s Prime Day draws near by introducing a new payment option for US customers.
PayPal can now be used to conclude purchases made at online stores that include a Buy with Prime button.
“For participating brands integrating using the Buy with Prime API, PayPal is now available at checkout after shoppers log in to their Amazon account.
“And starting next year, Prime members will be able to perform a one-time link to their Amazon account to their PayPal account so that Prime free, fast shipping benefits are available automatically whenever they use PayPal while shopping with Buy with Prime on participating merchants’ websites,” PayPal said in the newsletter.
The business also announced on Wednesday that, as of early next year, Prime members will have the option to connect their PayPal and Amazon accounts, enabling Prime benefits to be applied automatically to purchases made through PayPal.
Amazon handles fulfilment for retailers who offer Buy with Prime, which debuted in April 2022.
Buy with Prime is effectively a full e-commerce experience inside a checkout button, rather than a substitute for payment processors like Shop Pay and Apple Pay.
Simply seek the blue “Buy with Prime” button at a participating online retailer to utilise PayPal in conjunction with Buy with Prime.
This will take you to a screen showing the address connected to your Amazon Prime account and immediately log you in.
PayPal should appear as one of the payment ways when you select Verify or add a payment method.
We earlier reported that users can now make purchases through TikTok without leaving the app through direct integration of Amazon shopping into the platform.
