Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has admitted he is enduring more pain than even Manchester United supporters after his 3-0 defeat to Manchester City.
The Portuguese coach cut a frustrated figure on the touchline as Pep Guardiola’s men dominated the encounter, exposing United’s defensive lapses and punishing them with clinical finishing.
Amorim did not hold back when he expressed his feelings after the game, saying that he is going through more hardship than Manchester United supporters as a result of the team’s recent poor performance.
In the wake of United’s most recent humiliating loss TO Manchester derby, Amorim stated that he accepts “any decision” made. This comes as his record at the club took yet another serious damage.
“The performance was not good,” he said (via Sky Sports) “In the important moments, they were better than us.
“I’m trying to be rational. I see the record. I understand the frustration, and I understand the decisions that come with that. I take the critics. That’s it.”
He responded as follows when asked what message he would want to convey to irate supporters, many of whom left the Etihad well before the final whistle:
“My message? I will do everything. Always thinking about what is best for the club.
“Until I’m here, I’ll do my best. The rest is not my decision. I’m suffering more [than the fans].”
