The Anambra State Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Patricia Igwebuike, accompanied by her counterpart in the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy, Hon. Tony Collins Nwabunnanne, embarked on a significant visit to the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) to delve into sustainable transport planning and implementation.
The duo said the visit underscores the commitment of Anambra State to enhance its transportation infrastructure and services.
The delegation was received by Mr. Olasunkanmi Okusaga, the Director of Rail, representing the Managing Director, Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo.
During the visit, Hon. Igwebuike expressed her admiration for Lagos state’s pioneering efforts in public transportation.
She also conveyed her optimism that LAMATA’s expertise and experience would greatly aid Anambra State in realizing its transportation vision.

As part of their visit, the delegation had the opportunity to experience firsthand one of Lagos state’s public transportation achievements by taking a journey on the Blue Line Rail.
The delegation travelled from the iconic Marina Station to Mile 2 and back, gaining practical insights into the system’s functioning.
