British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua has disclosed that he has no plans of retiring from boxing after suffering a knockout loss to compatriot, Daniel Dubois.
Dubois was aggressive from the start and didn’t give the 2012 Olympic gold medallist a chance to breathe as he landed several heavy punches throughout the first four rounds before delivering a knockout blow in the fifth, despite Joshua being the much more experienced opponent.
Joshua lost for the sixth time in his career, making it possibly the most lopsided loss the 34-year-old has ever suffered. Despite this, a stubborn “AJ” declared during the fight that he had no intention of retiring from boxing.

After being thrashed by Dubois, many have suggested that Joshua might want to think about retiring, but Joshua has stated that he firmly intends to continue with his career.
“Probably you’re asking: ‘Do I still want to continue fighting?’ Of course, I want to continue fighting,” Joshua said.
Joshua would go on to clarify that although he lost his opportunity to win a world title at the highest level of the sport, he is not planning to give up on the sport altogether.
“We have to give credit to our opponent as well, Daniel. Well done to him and his team and also thank you to my team as well for the way they prepared for me. There were a few mistakes in there but that’s the name of the game,” Joshua said. “Fine margins can cost you at the top level.”
