British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua has advised Cameroonian boxer not to quit the game after suffering a devastating defeat last night to his opponent in a much-publicized showdown.
Ngannou was knocked down three times in two rounds in the boxing matchup that was mostly dominated by Joshua, who landed a stinging right hand on his opponent in the first round.
After forcing Ngannou to kiss the canvas in the first round, Joshua saved his best for the second round as he knocked out his opposition with two vicious punches.
While reacting to his second-round victory against his adversary, Joshua advised Ngannou, who went into the contest in a buoyant mood following his impressive professional boxing debut against Tyson Fury last year, not to quit boxing.
“You are an inspiration. You will beat a lot of people. Don’t leave boxing. Don’t leave boxing,” the two-time heavyweight champion told his opponent in the centre of the ring.
“If you need anything, let me know, but we will speak another time,” Joshua added.
For emerging victorious, Joshua will earn nearly £40 million, but it doesn’t include PPV fees or any potential prize money, while the Cameroonian will take home $20 million, which is around £16 million.
