Real Madrid and Germany international player Antonio Rudiger has rated Arsenal defenders William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes as the best defenders in the world right now.
Rudiger, who once plied his trade with Chelsea, commented when asked on the podcast Inside Scoop which defenders are currently operating at the top level.
“Saliba and I like Gabriel from Arsenal as well.” Rudiger replied (via @Culturecams on X).
While explaining his reasons for picking the pair as the best defenders in the world, the player who has 74 caps playing for the German national team said they have been amazing.

He explained that the two centre-backs who have been playing together for the past two years now are the pillars of Arsenal’s transformation led by Mikel Arteta.
“If you see Arsenal, like the two centre-backs who are playing together, they are doing since two years now, they’re doing an amazing job. Like the transformation from Arsenal, that was a bit before and now, and those two are the pillar of it.”
“You have with Gabriel the more aggressive leader and for example, Saliba is, this brother plays clean. No, really, you have to give it to him. You know, he looks like a silent leader.” Rudiger explained.
