After receiving a nomination for the coveted 2025 Ballon d’Or Féminin award, which honours the finest female football player in the world, Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed her appreciation and delight.
Considered by many to be among the top goalkeepers in women’s football, the 24-year-old Paris FC goalie has had an incredible season for both club and nation.
Her exceptional accomplishments in the French Division 1 Féminine and her valiant efforts at the 2024 CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers secured her a place among the top contenders.
In a short video posted to her X page, Nnadozie claimed that receiving the distinction was a dream come true and a reward for all her years of dedication and hard work.
“This nomination means a lot to me. It’s a joy for me and my family. It shows that all the hard work, consistency, and prayers have paid off,” Nnadozie stated in the short video.
“I’m so happy about this; it’s a morale booster. Keep going, Chiamaka. Whatever you’re doing, the world is watching; never stop.
“Of course, it shows we have many good goalkeepers in Africa. I want to encourage all African goalkeepers to keep working hard. One day, the sky will be your starting point.”
