Apple has acknowledged that there is a continuous outage impacting some customers of its iCloud Private Relay service, which might cause the service to be delayed or even inaccessible.
The iPhone manufacturer has not officially disclosed the cause of the outage, but some customers are experiencing delayed or nonexistent service.
The purpose of Apple’s iCloud Plus subscription service’s iCloud Private Relay feature is to increase privacy when using the internet.
So that “no single party” can see who you are and the websites you visit, it hides all the data that is used to identify your online activity, including your IP address and DNS records.
The service protects users’ privacy by rerouting internet traffic across numerous servers.
TechCrunch noted that some Apple customers in areas including Europe and India have been impacted by the outage of iCloud Private Relay. the United States and Japan since at least Thursday.
Users are experiencing problems with internet connectivity on installed apps and being unable to access the web using the Safari browser due to intermittent outages.
Although the outage was initially reported at 2:34 p.m. Eastern Time, not all iCloud customers seem to be affected.
Similarly, the United States House of Representatives Homeland Security Committee has written to CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz, requesting that he speak on last week’s global IT outage.
The outage was caused by a defective upgrade to CrowdStrike’s security software, affecting millions of Windows devices.
The incident caused extensive disruptions in several areas, including aviation, finance, and healthcare.
