Apple today introduced new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, as well as a new entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by the M4 chip.
John Ternus, Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering confirmed the product launch in a news release.
According to the release, the new M4 Pro and M4 Max workstations include at least 24GB of Unified Memory as standard, up from 18GB in prior models.
Both models have three Thunderbolt 5 ports, the latest Thunderbolt specification that provides speeds of up to 120 Gb/s with Bandwidth Boost, which is three times the maximum bandwidth of Thunderbolt 4.
Naturally, Apple Intelligence plays a significant role in the puzzle.
The first round of changes landed with Monday’s macOS Sequoia 15.1 release, which included writing tools, image cleanup, article summaries, and a typing input for the revamped Siri experience.
Newsng gathered that the upcoming 15.2 release should include the majority of the remaining features announced by Apple at WWDC in June, such as Genmoji, Image Playground, Visual Intelligence, Image Wand, and ChatGPT integration.
Apple claims a full 24 hours of battery life, which is the longest stated for any MacBook.
“MacBook Pro is an incredibly powerful tool that millions of people use to do their life’s best work, and today we’re making it even better,” said Ternus.
“With the powerful M4 family of chips, and packed with pro features like Thunderbolt 5, an advanced 12MP Center Stage camera, an all-new nano-texture display option, and Apple Intelligence, the new MacBook Pro continues to be, by far, the world’s best pro laptop.”
We earlier reported that Apple, has launched its new iPad mini equipped with Apple A17 Pro chip which made its debut on last year’s iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max.
