A web version of Apple Podcasts was anonymously released by Apple on Monday, enabling users to access the podcast service without utilising the Podcast app.
The new website may be used to explore podcasts on the service, manage subscriptions, sync libraries linked to an Apple Account, and listen to shows. It shares the same access and management options as the Podcasts app.
After launching Apple Maps on the internet in July 2024, the company has launched this new service.
“Users can now get the favourite features they love,” said the company, “including the ability to browse millions of shows across a variety of categories, access their Library and Top Charts, purchase premium podcast subscriptions and much more.”
Podcasts.apple.com is the address of the web version; however, if one enters that in Safari on an iPhone or iPad, an alert informing the user that the website will open in the Podcasts app will show.
The Apple Podcast website opened in Chrome on the iPhone when the address was typed in.
With the recent release of a new UI, users of Apple Podcasts on the web can now access features that were previously exclusive to the app.
These include looking through millions of episodes, getting to the Library and Top Charts areas, buying premium podcast subscriptions, and more.
In addition to seeing their subscribed shows and shows they’ve followed, listeners who have synchronised their Apple Accounts can pause podcasts and save their play progress for subsequent listening.
We earlier reported that Apple Inc. and the union that represents its Towson, Maryland, retail employees have come to an early labour deal.
This is the first time the tech giant has done a deal of this kind in the US.
