Former Arsenal youth player Billy Vigar, who was most recently playing for Chichester City, has tragically passed away at the age of 21 after suffering a brain injury.
Vigar, who came through Arsenal’s academy, was once regarded as a promising striker before leaving the club in 2023. He later played for Derby County, Eastbourne Borough, and other lower-division clubs in English football.
Reports confirm that the young forward, who spent years in the Gunners’ academy system before earning a professional contract, sustained a brain injury and, despite medical efforts, sadly lost his life.
Arsenal paid tribute to their former player, releasing a statement:
“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former academy player, Billy Vigar. Billy was a gifted footballer, loved by teammates and coaches alike. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
