English Premier League (EPL) side Arsenal are expected to make formal steps to activate the £27 million buy option clause to formally sign Spanish goalkeeper David Raya permanently.
Recall that Arsenal completed the signing of Brentford goalkeeper David Raya last August on an initial £3 million loan deal with a £27 million option to buy in the summer
The £27 million option has now become an obligation to buy because David Raya was able to meet certain conditions in the contract relating to appearances.

Arsenal are now expected to proceed with formal steps to activate a £27 million buy option clause inserted in David Raya’s contract in the next few days, according to Fabrizio Romano.
He stated that there are no changes whatsoever in the plan by Arsenal to sign David Raya, as they have arranged to trigger the buy option to sign the player permanently.
‘‘Arsenal are expected to proceed with formal steps to activate £27m buy option clause for David Raya in the next days.
‘‘No changes, plan confirmed since day one: he’s staying and he’s gonna be #AFC goalkeeper.’’ Romano wrote on his official X handle on June 3, 2024.
