English Premier League (EPL) club Arsenal FC is preparing a new deal for 19-year-old player Ethan Nwaneri while the search for a new sporting director continues.
This was made known in a post on the X handle (formerly Twitter) of transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who also disclosed that Arsenal are making moves to replace Edu Gasper.
Romano further disclosed that talks with Nwaneri, who has already scored four goals this season, are ongoing and the club is optimistic of getting the deal done.
‘‘Arsenal keeps working on a new deal for Ethan Nwaneri while their search for a director continues.
‘‘Talks with Nwaneri over a new long-term contract are considered a priority; the club is optimistic to get it done.
‘‘Nwaneri, very happy at Arsenal; 4 goals already scored this season.’’ Romano wrote on his X page.
This comes days after Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta, explained why teenager Ethan Nwaneri should be provided with the enabling environment to thrive.
The Spanish tactician who opened up during a chat with the British media said that the club (Arsenal) will give Ethan Nwaneri the platform to showcase his budding skills.
The coach said that he cannot just talk about how good the player is right now at the age of 17 and that he should be in the position that he is at the moment at one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
