Antonio Percassi, the President of Italian Serie A side Atalanta, has reacted to questions surrounding the future of the coach of his high-flying team, Gian Piero Gasperini.
The coach, who has been at the helm for eight years and has overseen several different squads, is attracting interest from several clubs across Europe.
While speaking on the future of Gasperini after Atalanta booked their place in the final of the Europa Cup, Percassi who spoke with Sky Sports Italia, said that other clubs can sign him.
He said, “We have one more year on the contract, so it’s impossible for someone to come and take him. If the coach does come to us with a suggestion, we would, with great sadness, consider it, but we are not thinking about modifying our agreement.”

Percassi continued to commend Gasperini’s abilities, pointing out that, although he may be a little picky when things don’t go his way, all things considered, Gasperini is an amazing coach.
“He has been decisive, as over all these years, we’ve been growing and improving. We know each other well. At times, he can be a bit particular if things don’t go the right way, but he is an extraordinary coach.” He added.
Gasperini is now set to lead his team to the finals of the Europa Cup on Wednesday, May 22, in Dublin, against new Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
