Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, on Thursday, met with members of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of his party – People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Atiku took to social media to express his gratitude and pride in hosting the BoT members, led by its chairman and former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara, at his residence in Abuja.
In a message posted on his official X account, Atiku acknowledged the honour and privilege of hosting the crucial meeting.
He described the meeting as a fruitful discussion with what he referred to as “the conscience of our great party.”
The former vice president and prominent figure in the PDP emphasized the significance of the talks, which revolved around developing a vibrant opposition agenda.
According to Atiku Abubakar, this agenda aims to rescue Nigeria and its citizens from the socio-economic and political challenges currently plaguing the nation.
His words:
”It was an honour and privilege to host the Board of Trustees of the PDP led by its Chairman and former Senate President, Sen Adolphus Wabara, at my residence in Abuja.
”I had a fruitful discussion with the conscience of our great party on a vibrant opposition agenda to save Nigeria and Nigerians from the socio-economic and political asphyxiation it is currently going through.”
Political analysts say Atiku’s engagement with the PDP’s BoT signifies a concerted effort to provide a strong opposition that can address and rectify Nigeria’s issues.
