Atiku predicts collapse of Buhari, Tinubu alliance ahead of 2023

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says the alliance between President Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu will collapse before the 2023 general elections.

Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), had teamed up with Buhari to defeat the incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan, in 2015.

Seven years down the line, Atiku believes the alliance will come to an end in the coming days.

The former vice president described the PDP as Nigeria’s only party adding that the APC was only an “alliance of convenience”.

“You see, to be honest, PDP is the only party in this country. The APC is an alliance between CPC and Tinubu’s party. We are going to defeat them at the polls and then they will be dead. I do not see them survive after,” Atiku said at the inauguration of the youth wing of PDP’s Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja on Thursday.

Atiku, Rotimi Amaechi, Bukola Saraki and some top politicians had decamped to the APC to work toward Buhari’s emergence as president in 2015.
