The coach of Italian Serie A side Atlanta FC, Gian Piero Gasperini, has talked up the potential and speed of 26-year-old Nigerian international football player Ademola Lookman.
Gasperini, who spoke in an interview with Italian media outlet Pazzi di Fanta, said that despite Lookman’s struggle for goals with Atlanta, he has been impressed with the development.
According to him, Lookman once didn’t play so offensively, and he used to score 6–7 goals a year, but now he is quick, good at dribbling, and even strong with his head.
“We all see Lookman‘s potential and speed, but we must admit that he once didn’t play so offensively,” Gasperini said per Pazzi di Fanta.
“He used to score 6–7 goals a year, while now he is quick, good at dribbling, and even strong with his head.
“I encourage him because every now and then, he hides from the game, but I believe that when he approaches the area, he can become a reference player for our team.”
