Seyi Law, a popular comedian, has issued a warning to the Ondo State National Assembly over plans to impeach state deputy governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
According to reports, Mr Aiyedatiwa is facing claims of grave misconduct and moves have been made to impeach him following a decision by the state national assembly.
In reaction to the development, Seyi Law described the move as stupidity and called for the rejection of any attempt to remove Mr Aiyedatiwa from office.
He said the state does not belong to a particular group of people but every resident of Ondo state and noted that such action should not be tolerated.
“The stupidity they are about to perpetrate in Ondo State should be rejected by any patriotic indigene of the State.
He said, “The constant disregard for due process because of a few selfish people will not be tolerated. The abuse of power and gang up against the deputy governor who has played his role with loyalty will be rejected.
The comedian also called out on Wole Ogunmolasuyi, the majority leader of the house, who is said to be championing the move for the impeachment of the deputy governor to be warned, hence he would be disgraced.
The House of Assembly members pushing for the impeachment of the deputy governor will be shamed. I will name all of you and put you on a blast. I promise you. All of you who have been induced monetarily to carry out this act will regret it.
Wole Ogunmolasuyi, your selfishness and self-serving ego will ruin you if you don’t take time. I am coming back to you. Ondo State belongs to every indigene of the State, not a local government. Beware.
Mr Aiyedatiwa’s ordeal comes against the backdrop of a similar case in Edo where the deputy governor, Philip Shaibu has been at loggerheads with his principal Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Last week, Mr Shaibu, was said to have been denied access to his office at the Government House in Benin, the state capital.
The News.ng had reported Mr Shaibu sued his boss, Mr Obaseki over alleged plans to remove him from office.
According to a court document, which was filed on July 28, Mr Shaibu informed the court about possible plans by Mr Obaseki to impeach him from office.
