As part of security measures, the Minister disclosed plans to establish a military base between Sabon Birni and Tsamaye, aimed at further strengthening regional security.
He appealed to local communities to support the military and offer prayers for the troops who are working tirelessly to restore peace.
Matawalle’s tour also took him to villages severely impacted by banditry, including Hawan Duro and Mai Lalle.
In these areas, he promised the deployment of additional military forces to secure the region and assured displaced residents that they would soon be able to return to their homes safely.
He acknowledged the hardships faced by these communities and reiterated the government’s determination to safeguard their lives and property.
In Goronyo LGA, Matawalle emphasized the Federal Government’s focus on establishing military camps along critical routes to protect civilians and boost regional stability.
He also expressed gratitude for the support provided by the Sokoto State Government in the collective fight against banditry and insecurity.
“The Federal Government remains resolute in its mission to restore peace in the North-West, and the deployment of additional troops and the establishment of new military bases are critical steps toward achieving this goal,” Matawalle said.
