The abductors of the 21 child farmers in Katsina state are demanding the sum of N30 million for their release.

About children between the ages of 15 – 18 were abducted from a farm in Katsina state on Sunday.

Gambo Isah, the spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, confirmed this in an interview with ChannelsTV on Wednesday, November 2.

“The terrorists reached out to parents of some of the victims to bargain on the ransom, according to them, they will not collect any amount less than 30 million naira or a direct access to the owner of the farm,” a source said.

“They further stated that they had already made their investigations and found out that the owner of the farm is highly rich.”

Isah noted that the owner of the farm was not around as at the time the incident occurred.

He, however, assured Nigerians that the Command was working to rescue the children.

“Yes, we got the report, and we are working to rescue them. The children among them are 21, between 15 and 18 years. “The owner of the farm was not around when the incident happened,” he added.
