Barcelona FC issues statement on Yamine Lamal’s muscular injury

Topflight Spanish La Liga cubside Barcelona has issued an official statement regarding the muscular injury sustained by 17-year-old wonderkid Lamine Yamal.

The club in a statement issued on Monday revealed that Yamal who became the youngest goalscorer in El Clásico history when he scored the third goal in a 4-0 victory against Real Madrid has a grade 1 right ankle syndesmosis injury.

Barcelona also disclosed that Yamal may be out of action for close to three weeks.

The statement reads; ‘‘Lamine Yamal has a grade 1 right ankle syndesmosis injury. The approximate time out will be between two and three weeks”.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick disclosed that he does not know if Yamal will return before the international break and also stated that the club has asked the player not to travel to honour national team call-up.

He said; “We will miss now Lamine Yamal… I don’t know if he will return after the international break”.

“We’ve asked for him not to travel to national team. We tried until the end with Lamine Yamal”.

“We have to take care of Lamine, I don’t know how long he will be out… he has problems with his ankle”.
