President Donald Trump’s foray into digital assets has added more than half a billion dollars to his wealth in 2025, marking a significant milestone as cryptocurrency now makes up a notable portion of his financial portfolio.

According to a recent report from Bloomberg, Trump’s estimated net worth has surpassed $6 billion, with roughly $620 million stemming from cryptocurrency-related activities.

These gains come primarily through his family-affiliated crypto firm, World Liberty Financial, and the launch of his memecoin, Official Trump (TRUMP).

World Liberty Financial reportedly generated $550 million from token sales, from which Trump and his three sons are said to have earned $390 million. Collectively, they still hold over $2 billion in the platform’s governance token, WLF.

The company may have also secured an additional $100 million following a high-profile $2 billion investment deal with Abu Dhabi–based MGX, using its USD1 stablecoin to settle the transaction involving Binance.

Trump’s memecoin project, which sparked criticism among lawmakers after he offered a dinner and VIP experience to the top 220 holders, is currently valued at around $150 million.

However, with a large portion of TRUMP tokens locked and set to be released over the next three years, it remains unclear how much of that value Trump will be able to realise.

His crypto connections don’t end there. Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump reportedly each hold a 20% stake in American Bitcoin, a subsidiary of mining company Hut 8.

The firm recently raised $220 million for new mining infrastructure and is preparing to go public through a merger with Gryphon Digital Mining.

Trump’s deepening involvement in the digital asset space has reignited concerns in Congress. Democratic lawmakers have been pushing for legislation that would prohibit U.S. presidents and their families from owning or endorsing cryptocurrencies.

Although these efforts have stalled due to Republican control in both chambers, the issue remains a focal point in ongoing debates.

Just this week, Senator Jeff Merkley submitted a proposal during budget discussions to address what he called “unresolved conflicts of interest” stemming from the president’s crypto affiliations.
