Nigerian boxing legend Bash Ali is set to make one of the most sensational comebacks in sports history as he prepares to return to the ring at 69 years old—and he’s already promising a knockout in the first round.

The former World Boxing Federation (WBF) cruiserweight champion, who last fought professionally over two decades ago, will take on Prince Bob Alagoro in the main event of “Legendary Ring Return,” scheduled for November 22, 2025, at Shalom Park & Events Centre, opposite General Hospital, Igando, Lagos.

Ali, who became Africa’s first WBF world champion, says he’s been training relentlessly for months and insists that age won’t be a factor when he steps back into the ring.

“I’ve been ready for this for years. My body is strong, my mind is sharp, and my spirit is on fire. This fight will not go beyond one round,” Ali declared confidently during a press conference in Lagos.

The upcoming bout will mark Bash Ali’s first competitive appearance since 2004—a 21-year hiatus filled with his campaign to host a Guinness World Records fight for the oldest active boxer. His determination to return has often been met with scepticism, but the veteran insists his comeback is about legacy, pride, and proving doubters wrong.
