Breaking: FIFA, YouTube Partner to Enable Content Creators Broadcast 2026 World Cup Matches Live

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on Tuesday announced a landmark digital partnership with the world’s biggest online video-sharing platform, YouTube, that will allow content creators to broadcast the 2026 World Cup matches live, news.ng reports.

According to details, YouTube content creators will be allowed to broadcast the World Cup matches live for the first ten minutes after kick-off.

According to FIFA, the agreement would showcase top-notch tournament content, paving the way for new opportunities for media partners and digital content creators globally.

“FIFA is delighted to welcome YouTube as a Preferred Platform for the FIFA World Cup 2026. By spotlighting FIFA’s premium content and unlocking new opportunities for Media Partners and creators, this agreement will engage global fans in ways never seen before,” said FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström.

“As the world’s attention turns to the action in Canada, Mexico and the United States, this collaboration with YouTube reinforces our ambition to maximise the tournament’s impact across the ever-evolving media landscape, offering fans everywhere easy access to an immersive view of the biggest single-sport event in history.”

News.ng reports that the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted by three countries—Mexico, Canada, and the United States of America—will kick off on June 11, with the first match between co-host Mexico and South Africa.
