Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on Kelechi Iheanacho’s fitness after the Nigerian forward limped off during the Foxes’ Europa League victory over Sturm Graz on Thursday night.

Iheanacho, who started the match and played a key role in Celtic’s attacking play, appeared to pick up a slight knock midway through the second half before being substituted. His condition sparked concern among fans ahead of the club’s upcoming fixtures.

Speaking after the 2–0 win against Sturm Graz, Rodgers assured supporters that the injury was “not serious”, describing the change as precautionary.

“Kelechi felt a bit of tightness in his hamstring, so we didn’t want to take any chances,” Rodgers said. “He’s a very important player for us, and he should be fine in a few days.”

The Celtic FC boss praised Iheanacho’s contribution to the win, highlighting his energy, link-up play, and pressing in the final third.

“He was excellent tonight — worked hard, created chances, and helped set the tone for our attack,” Rodgers added. “We expect him back in training soon.”

Iheanacho has been in impressive form this season, rediscovering his sharpness in front of goal and cementing his place as one of Leicester’s most reliable attacking options.

The Celtics’ victory over Sturm Graz puts them in a strong position in their Europa League group, and fans will be relieved to know that their Nigerian star’s setback is only temporary.
