British Airways has reopened its completely renovated lounge at the Lagos airport, offering luxurious and contemporary space for travellers after a six-month refurbishment.
The airline’s management said the upgraded lounge, now spanning 360 square meters, has been designed to enhance the customer experience with improved amenities, an upgraded food and beverage selection, and the inclusion of local art.
“The newly designed lounge provides distinct zones tailored to different needs, whether customers wish to relax, dine, or work.
“Upon entering through the grand floor-to-ceiling glass entrance, travellers are greeted by a modern and inviting space.
“For those looking to dine before their evening flight to London, a self-serve dining area is available, offering a variety of freshly prepared dishes.
“The menu includes a mix of Nigerian classics and British-inspired dishes, ensuring a diverse culinary experience,” the airline said.
Customers can also enjoy a range of drinks at the newly built bar, where a bartender will serve cocktails, wine, and soft drinks. Additionally, champagne and canapés will be available for First Class travellers.
Collaborating with Akoje Gallery, British Airways further said it will display art from local Nigerian artists throughout the lounge.
This partnership, founded by Maro Itoje and Khalil Akar, aims to celebrate and promote local talent.
The renovated lounge also includes a quiet room with day beds for relaxation and a main area furnished with comfortable sofas and clusters of tables and chairs.
For those needing to work, new printing facilities are available, ensuring a seamless experience for business travellers.
Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer, stated: “We’re focused on investing in the entire customer journey, not just on board.
“For many of our customers, lounges are an important part of their experience, and the re-design of our Lagos lounge is a key part of our transformation strategy across our lounges around the world.
“We’re delighted to open our doors to this stunning lounge in Lagos and we’re confident customers will enjoy spending time in this cleverly created space.”
He added that the lounge is accessible to customers travelling in Club World (business) and First Class, as well as Silver and Gold Executive Club Members.
