Buhari: Security in the northeast has greatly improved
SHARE

President Muhammadu Buhari says the security situation in the northeast region of the country has improved appreciably.

He stated this in Maiduguri, at an event to commemorate the World Humanitarian Day on Friday, August 19, 2022.

While appreciating the efforts of the military in the fight against insurgency, President Buhari urged security agencies in the region to eliminate the terrorists.

”I commend their professionalism and tactical penetration to the hideout of the criminal elements, leading to appreciable improvement of the security situation in this North East Region, without which the resettlement of the IDPs would not be possible,” Buhari said.

”I, therefore, implore you not to relent in your efforts, continue to take the fight to their hideouts, and ensure they are completely eliminated,” the President ordered according to a statement by his media aide, Femi Adesina.

President Buhari urged the security agencies to ensure the security of farmers in the region.
