Buhari’s minister says Peter Obi won’t win 2023 presidential election

Olorunnimbe Mamora, minister of science and technology, has said that it would be impossible for Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party, to win the 2023 election.

Mamora said this while speaking to ChannelsTV on Tuesday.

According to him, Obi is running as an independent candidate adding that America has never elected anyone who is not either a republican or democrat as president.

“What I see, with all due respect, is what you can call independent candidacy in Labour, and to the best of my knowledge, even in America, no independent candidate has ever won the presidency,” Mamora said.

“They can win in the senate or house of representatives but not in the presidential. So, it will be a miracle of the century.

“I won’t dismiss it (support for Peter Obi) but it doesn’t seem to me that it will be as such as would cause havoc in this system at the end of the day,” he added.

In other news, Obi has donated the sum of five million naira to flood victims in Makurdi, the Benue state capital.

The Labour Party presidential candidate made the donation during a visit to some areas affected by flooding within Makurdi.
