Talented Cameroon defender Flavien Boyomo has tipped Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman to succeed his compatriot Victor Osimhen as Africa’s best player.
Boyomo, who predicted in a chat with the media in Cameroon, said that Ademola Lookman stands a greater chance to win the year’s CAF Men Player of the Year Award.
He argued that Lookman would win the award because he played a crucial part when his club Atalanta won the Europa Cup by beating German club Bayer Leverkusen in the final.
“I believe Lookman will win the African Ballon d’Or,” Boyomo was quoted saying by Actu Cameroon.
“He won the Europa League and he is the one who has the best chance of winning the trophy this year.”
Boyomo’s comments come after Francois Ngoumou, a former Camerron junior international, also tipped Lookman to win the 2024 CAF African Player of the Year prize.
The ex-international who made the prediction in a recent chat with Foot Africa said that the Atalanta FC of Italy player had a brilliant Africa Cup of Nations with Nigeria.
He also argued that Ademola Lookman’s performances with Atalanta were very interesting, as he was able to assert himself and prove decisive in the Europa League.
