The 23-man Nigerian Super Eagles B team for the 8th African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 has been formally announced by head coach Eric Chelle.
Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda are the three co-host countries for the biennial competition, which is set to take place from August 2 to August 30, 2025.
On Wednesday night, Chelle revealed his team, which will contest the competition with three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders, and seven forwards.
The team, which consists solely of players from the Nigerian domestic league, combines fresh talent with experience. The selection is dominated by nine players from Remo Stars, the winners of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
On Thursday, the home-based Super Eagles, who are in Group D alongside the defending champions Senegal, Congo, and Sudan, will depart Nigeria for Zanzibar to complete their tournament preparations.
Notable inclusions are team captain and defensive stalwart Junior Harrison Nduka (Remo Stars), prolific striker Godwin Obaje (Rangers International), and versatile forward Sikiru Alimi (Remo Stars). Other key members include:
