The home-based Super Eagles sealed a memorable victory over Congo in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) group stage, with youngster Ebenezer Harcourt making history in the process.
The Sporting Lagos goalie made history as Nigeria defeated Congo on Tuesday at the 2024 African Nations Championship. Head coach Eric Chelle selected him in the starting lineup for the Group D match.
Nigeria ran out 2-0 winners in a tightly contested match, with Harcourt grabbing the spotlight after becoming the youngest player to score for the Super Eagles B team in CHAN history. His display in the first half set the tone for a confident Nigerian performance.
Being the youngest player to represent the senior team, the Super Eagles, Harcourt made history. The 15-year-old also kept a clean sheet to commemorate the event.
