The English Premier League (EPL) side of the Chelsea Football Club is still very interested in signing Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen from the Italian club side Napoli.
This much information was revealed on the X page (formerly Twitter) of transfer expert Fabrizio Romano who disclosed that Chelsea reactivated the option to sign the player weeks ago.
Romano further disclosed in his post on the micro-blogging platform that Chelsea informed Napoli that they could proceed on an initial loan to sign the player in the final days of the transfer window.
‘‘Chelsea remains interested in Victor Osimhen as the option was re-activated weeks ago and talks are still ongoing.

‘‘But #CFC informed Napoli that they could proceed on loan in the final days.
‘‘Osimhen and his camp always been clear, not open to loan/no way to reduce salary.’’ He wrote on X.
Romano also confirmed that Chelsea sees Romelu Lukaku and Victor Osimhen as separate deals and there are no negotiations for a swap deal between the two players.
Chelsea is working on selling Lukaku permanently to Napoli, with personal terms agreed and ongoing talks for the sale.
