‘‘Leicester City will receive €10m compensation for Maresca + extra for staff.’’ Romano wrote.
Recall that Romano earlier stated that Maresca, who successfully guided Leicester City back to the Premiership, is 100% keen on and excited about Chelsea’s football project.
The race to become the next Chelsea turned out to be a keenly contested affair, with Thomas Frank and Kieran Mckenna all earlier mentioned internally at Chelsea.
Reports indicate that Seb Hoeneß of Stuttgart was highly regarded but seen as challenging to hire as the new Chelsea coach. Additionally, there were no discussions with Vincent Kompany, Thomas Tuchel, Hansi Flick, or Antonio Conte, despite widespread speculation in the media.
