The move by English Premier League (EPL) side Chelsea to sign Athletico Madrid striker Samu Omorodion for the sum of €40 million has been rejected by the Spanish club.

Romano also informed in his post shared on the social media platform that Chelsea FC will try to explore chances to negotiate for Omorodion after Atléti rejected €40 million initial package.
‘‘Chelsea keeps working on both Samu Omorodion and Jhon Durán deals but will only bring in one striker.

‘‘Only chance for Durán: players to be included in deal with Villa.’’ Romano wrote on X.
Recall that Napoli FC wanted Omorodion to replace Victor Osimhen, who is set to leave at the end of the season.
Sky Italia reports that Napoli sees the 20-year-old from Melilla as an ideal replacement for Osimhen.
Atletico Madrid has a contract with the Spain U21 international which runs until June 2028. Even though he has a long-term contract, moving to Napoli is a possibility because of the chance to get more playing time and a significant role.
