Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha fondly referred to as Basketmouth, has disclosed that he will quit being a comedian in the next five years.
He made the statement during a recent interview with the radio station Hitz 103.9FM. He said he plans to explore new terrains.
“For the past six years, I have just been floating. Last year, I told myself and my team that when I am coming back to comedy, I am going to do five years and I am quitting. I am quitting in five years, I have got just five years to go with this and I am done.
“I can quit. There is a plan. The way I planned my life, I said when I get to 50, I would drop the mic. “
The comedian stated that he is into movies, series, and concert production, noting that he
wants to experience something new and be remembered for something else other than comedy.
Meanwhile, Elsie Okpocha, the estranged wife of Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth, has advised women against rushing into marriage when they are not ready.
In a video on her Instagram page, she urged Nigerians to stop pressuring women to marry early.
She argued that when a woman is not married, she’s probably taking her time or has not found the right person yet.
