Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the recent election, has declared that Nigeria does not need to amend its Constitution in order to ensure security.
He said that if the country is managed in a way that stops stealing, then everything will be in order. He added that Nigerians must act in the right way and respect the rule of law in order for the country to function properly.
The former Anambra governor wrote on his X handle previously known as Twitter, “Regarding the vision for a New Nigeria, we must restructure. If Nigeria is managed in a manner that stops stealing, it will definitely work.
In order to ensure the security of the country, it is not necessary to amend the Constitution but rather to act in the right way and follow the law”.
According to Obi, if India, which has a population of 7 times the size of ours, can feed itself with an area of 3200,000 square kilometres, then so can we, since we occupy almost one-third of the country’s land space.
He also noted that if India can feed itself, then so can Nigeria, which has one-quarter of the population. He also noted that Nigeria needs to have a rule of law-based leadership, with a verified identity and credentials, and that rascality must be stopped.
