A popular gaming platform, Hamster Kombat, is facing widespread backlash after a large number of players were disqualified from the Season 1 airdrop, leading to anger and disappointment in the community.
Hamster Kombat, a prominent play-to-earn (P2E) game, had been building excitement for its HMSTR token launch and airdrop, scheduled for September 26, 2024.
However, recent disqualifications of over 60% of the player base have left users feeling betrayed, especially as many had spent months focusing on the game’s point-per-hour (PPH) system.
Initially, players were told that key collection was not required for the airdrop, but this changed at the last moment, making key collection a crucial factor.
The sudden shift in rules has sparked outrage, with players accusing the platform of unfair treatment.
To make matters worse, some of those disqualified have been labelled as cheaters, despite having only collected a modest number of keys.
Meanwhile, users who allegedly exploited the system with multiple accounts remain eligible, fueling frustration and accusations of bias.
The disqualification has been a double blow for many players, who spent months grinding in-game to increase their PPH score, only to discover that their efforts were in vain.
Adding to their frustration, many of the tokens they did receive are locked and will only be gradually unlocked over time.
Players are now calling this airdrop “one of the worst in crypto history,” feeling the reward fell far short of expectations after months of anticipation.
As dissatisfaction grows, some users are debating whether to quit the game altogether, with a few already uninstalling it.
The community is now calling for Hamster Kombat to reassess disqualified accounts and provide transparency about the selection process for the airdrop. If the platform fails to address these concerns, it risks alienating a large portion of its player base at a critical moment.
