Sky Sports presenter Dan Bardelli has explained why Rangers should not sell Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers this summer despite the temptation to do away with the player.
Bardelli who is a presenter with talkSPORTs warned that it would be a risk to let a player who has already proven that they can score goals and replace them.
He noted that he does not think that Rangers can lose many more goals from their side, but with Dessers leaving, they would lose a large proportion of goals moving forward.
“It’s always a risk letting a player go who has already proven that they can score goals and replacing them. I don’t think Rangers can lose many more goals from their side, but with Dessers leaving, they would lose a large proportion,” Bardelli said in an interview with Ibrox News.
“When signing a new forward, there’s no guarantee it will work out better than him. Rangers must be careful because goal scorers come at a premium, and every club is looking for a number nine.

“The number nine market is harder than it’s probably ever been, so it is a risk for Rangers. If they bring someone new in, they’ve got to get it right.” He added.
Greek champions PAOK Salonika and Rangers are negotiating the signing of Dessers, a striker. The Nigerian international has submitted a transfer request to push the move forward.
In a bid to bolster their attacking line ahead of next season, PAOK has been active in the transfer market.
Danish striker Martin Braithwaite was on the Greek giants’ list of transfer targets in anticipation of the upcoming season. Braithwaite appears to be a top priority for the team going forward.
Meanwhile, the Greek side is reportedly giving the Dessers case considerable consideration as well, a report by Novasports.gr reveals.
PAOK manager Razvan Lucescu aims to secure the team’s main striker, Dessers before the upcoming season begins by advancing talks.
