The future of England winger Jadon Sancho remains uncertain after he told AS Roma that he would not accept the club’s offer of a permanent transfer.

Sancho had been in negotiations with Roma to move to Italy after spending a portion of the previous season on loan at Chelsea. But according to Italian media, the Manchester United forward has informed them of his choice to decline their offer.

According to a post shared on X by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the player has informed the club through his agent about his decision to decline the offer tabled by AS Roma.

‘‘Jadon Sancho’s agent also informed AS Roma of their decision not to accept the proposal.

‘‘Sancho wants to consider other clubs’ proposals, and AS Roma will now look at different options.

‘‘Man Utd hope for similar proposals to follow, around £20m as they were ready to accept.’’ Romao wrote on his X page.

Given that United is still open to dumping him this summer, the 24-year-old’s position now begs new doubts over his future. A return to the Premier League has also been suggested as a possibility, and several European teams have been keeping an eye on the issue.

Roma tried to persuade Sancho to join their long-term project under the new administration, but he was rejected. Before the transfer window ends, the team will now focus on other attacking possibilities.

The upcoming weeks will probably determine Sancho’s future, as his career has stagnated since he moved to Old Trafford in 2021 for £73 million.
