In a New Year message to the people of Delta State, Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori highlighted his administration’s unwavering dedication to progress and sustainable development, expressing gratitude for support amidst challenges while emphasizing unity, peace, and optimism for the year ahead.
Governor Oborevwori conveyed warm New Year wishes to Deltans and residents, assuring them of his steadfast commitment to advancing Delta State’s development despite the challenges encountered in the past year.
Acknowledging the trying nature of the past year, Governor Oborevwori expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation received from the people of Delta.
In light of economic difficulties, he urged unity, peace, and a prayerful attitude to overcome challenges collectively.
Emphasizing the collective effort needed for progress, Governor Oborevwori credited the collaboration from various sectors, including the legislature, judiciary, civil service, traditional and religious leaders, and his political appointees.
He expressed confidence in leveraging this support to further advance Delta State in 2024.
He said: ”I am confident that with our collective efforts, we will achieve even more in governance and development this year. We have already made significant strides, including signing our 2024 Budget into law and initiating major infrastructure projects.
”Moving forward, security and peaceful coexistence will remain vital for our state’s advancement.
”We have been doing our best to ensure that the developmental needs of the state are attended to by applying the level of prudence and fiscal discipline that the present challenges demand.”
Asserting the prudent application of fiscal discipline in addressing the state’s developmental needs, Governor Oborevwori said he remains optimistic about the prospects and blessings the upcoming year holds for the people of Delta State.
He encouraged determination and hope in approaching the year ahead.
Concluding his address, the Governor extended New Year wishes on behalf of his family, the Government, and the entirety of Delta State, wishing all a prosperous and fulfilling year.
