The Delta State Government, under the leadership of Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has approved a N78 billion contract to Julius Berger Nigeria Limited for the construction of multiple flyover bridges.
The decision was made during the 2nd State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting, which was presided over by Governor Oborevwori at the EXCO Chamber, Government House in Asaba.
The awarded contract encompasses the construction of flyover bridges at critical locations, including Enerhen Junction to Marine Gate, PTI Junction, and DSC Roundabout.
Officials of the government say the projects have been strategically planned to address the persistent traffic congestion issues that have plagued the Warri and Effurun areas for an extended period.
A government official who spoke anonymously said:
”Traffic congestion has been a long-standing concern in these regions, impacting daily commuters and the local economy.
”The construction of these flyover bridges is crucial to easing traffic flow, reducing travel times, and enhancing overall mobility in the affected areas.
